Lima Architects has been commissioned by the Six Nations of the Grand River – Health Services to design a new animal control building at the Six Nations reserve in Ohsweken, ON. The brief called for a structure that is simple, modern, and economical.

Our design philosophy embraces minimalism, presenting a building that is both functional and aesthetically refined. The primary material chosen for this project is a dark grey brick, which lends a contemporary yet timeless appearance to the structure. This monochromatic palette not only underscores the building's modernity but also ensures durability and cost-effectiveness.

The building's design emphasizes clean lines and an uncluttered form, creating a harmonious integration with the natural surroundings. Situated amidst a grove of trees, the structure’s subdued color palette and minimalist design allow it to blend seamlessly with the landscape, providing a serene and cohesive visual experience.

We are confident that this thoughtfully designed facility will meet the functional needs of the animal control services while enhancing the aesthetic quality of its environment
