Designing for Early Childhood Education
Designing spaces for early childhood is an exercise in creating harmony and peace. Our vision for Ohana Montessori was a building that quietly supports growth, giving physical form to the school's philosophy of nature meeting nurture. The result is a thoughtfully scaled facility organized around a child's natural rhythm rather than an adult's.
Program areas were organized so that circulation between them reads clearly and without confusion, and the building was oriented to establish a strong connection between the learning areas and the outdoors, reinforcing the Montessori principle that the environment is itself a teacher.
Entitlement Approvals in Santa Ana
Establishing a new early learning facility in Santa Ana takes more than a strong design concept. Lima Architects prepared the design documentation and led the entitlement process with the City of Santa Ana, coordinating with planning staff and addressing municipal requirements to secure the approvals that allowed the project to proceed.
Entitlement work is a core service at Lima Architects. Our experience navigating municipal planning and approval processes in both Ontario and California means clients get a design that is not only compelling but achievable within the regulatory framework of its jurisdiction.
